Play

Playing Leaf Trombone is easy: blow into your iPhone's microphone (or, in Touch mode, simply touch the screen) and press down on the leaf to play a note. Slide your finger towards you - you'll hear the pitch get higher, just like a real trombone Choose your favorite song from Leaf Trombone's library of songs, right from your iPhone or iPod touch!

The pegs just to the left of the leaf show you the notes in a major scale, just for reference. Play any song from our user-created music library and watch the notes float up towards your leaf, guiding your finger to the right note. It's that easy!

Choose your favorite song from Leaf Trombone's library of songs, right from your phone itself! Favorite the songs you love, choose from Popular or New lists of songs... even view a list of your own Leaf Trombone compositions made with the online Composer.

Practice your songs until you've got them just right and then, you're ready to share with the World. Here's where the World Stage part comes in. When you've practiced a song a few times, you can perform it before a global audience. A panel of judges (i.e. other Leaf Trombonists) will send you love or, well, encouragement to try again through short messages and emoticons. The more you perform, the more famous you'll become. And with experience, comes achievements!

Keep on performing and raise your level of respect in the community as your ranking increases through 10 levels.

A World-Class Composer

Feeling truly creative? Go to our easy-to-use online Composer to compose your own score and musical accompaniment to store for your own use or to share with the world community of Smuleans.

Using your web browser, enter notes for the melodic trombone part as well as the background accompaniment to be played on the Musicbox, listen to a MIDI version of your track, then save it to your free online account. When it's just right, click publish and your song is instantly beamed to thousands of phones around the world!

Judge

Everybody knows the best spot in the house is in the judge’s booth! Join a real-time judging session and help other Leaf Trombonists by listening to their performances and giving them your honest opinion of their artistry.

You and two other Leaf Trombonists from all around the world will be able to critique in real-time the performer with demonstrative emoticons and brief text messages. Be fair (or brutal), but keep it clean, please!

Keep judging and watch your respect in the community grow as your level increases. Show the world your judging chops as you move from a lowly "Nobody" to the most feared and respected "Master Justice" in all the land!
